Process Post #4

My imagined audience is people like myself, I imagine my friends and peers are the only one viewing my website right now due to it being early into the development stage, but overtime that will evolve. The public who is currently engaging with my content is very reflective of who I am, perhaps due to it being my existing community, but that’s how I imagine it grows. I am writing from a very authentic voice, mainly using photographs I took from experiences I’ve had and speaking about things I enjoy doing. This outpouring of myself will hopefully attract an audience that resonates with my interests. When I think about someone stumbling across my blog, I imagine it being a woman in her 20’s, living Downtown Vancouver who’s looking for a new spot to grab drinks with her friends. I think this imagined audience has informed not only my design, but my writing style. By imagining the reader is someone like me, I am able to be more honest and write from a voice that’s true to me. In fact, getting to write shorter form posts weekly has been very enjoyable for me, as creative writing has been an interest throughout my entire academic career, since elementary. However, the design has been where I am still finding my flow. I really love the colours, fonts and overall feel of my website right now, but I do see more for it. I want to incorporate more design, art, exciting typography and new colours. I am building a website I would want to read and that suits my own tastes, because I am looking to appeal to others similar to myself, I suppose.
