Girls night!!! Probably one of my most beloved Friday night plans, and they don’t have to be complicated to be great. Whether you are curling up with a movie on or having a wild-time, here are my essentials for the perfect night in.
The Bread and Butter, so to speak: Drinks. Alcohol. Wine. Whatever your poison is, let’s get it flowing. While I support a dry event, and girls nights can be fun without it, I believe that a little bevy is the key to a perfect girls nights. My personal favourite girls night drink situation was buying frozen pre-made limeade and blending it with our tequila, cointreau and a touch of agave (you can add in any fruit, syrups or jalapeƱo if you want a little something extra).
The Activities: It’s not living without playing a hilarious and slightly offensive drinking game. My tried and true games include; Piccolo, Psych, Jackbox TV, Tens, Would You Rather (classic, but great) or a good old prank call. Prank calls are a dying art and I am committed to getting us back there as a society. The first three listed games are downloaded via the App Store and make for a hilarious and creative conversation- I still have running jokes born from playing those games.
Snacks: No snacks is a crime. Enough said. Do whatever makes you happy, but don’t do nothing. My personal favourite is a grazing board or appetizer spread (preferably made by someone else).
I am not a proponent of the classic pyjamas, facemask and pillow fight girls-night-in that everyone thinks of. I believe nights in breed iconic inside jokes, bring us closer and makes for a less hangxiety-induced wake up in the morning. Just provide the bare minimum essentials I’ve listed and choose the invite list wisely, and you should be set for a night that beats any trip to the bar.
Enjoy!
